Albany flag football makes top pick for playoffs

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– Albany High School’s girls’ flag football team is the first seed in the Section 2, Division 1 playoffs. The Falcons will play the winner of Wednesday’s Saratoga Springs versus Colonie game on Friday, May 17.

Following a 10-1 season, the first playoff game is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Albany High School. The team capped the regular season with a 51-0 win over Schenectady on Monday, May 13.

During the final game of the regular season, Mia Corazzini recorded three touchdowns and 165 yards receiving, and Ava Muhammad threw 296 yards, six touchdowns, and three extra points. Cynzia Prokrym also participated in the win with five pulled flags, returned an interception, and two pass deflections.
