Rise Mzansi leader Songezo Zibi said political education was needed to change the mindset of the Eastern Cape people, who he said have been lied to by politicians for the longest time.

Zibi visited the Zwelitsha and Mdantsane regions in the province on Thursday to campaign for his party ahead of the general elections on 29 May.

He said they were focusing on political empowerment and civic education as part of the campaign.
