IG orders improving investigation system

LAHORE:IG Punjab directed that investigation system should be improved with hard work and diligence.

He said that FIRs against property crimes should be registered immediately, and any omission will not be tolerated. He directed to provide social security to homeless children, women, transgenders and disabled persons through community policing initiative Tahaffuz Markaz. He issued various instructions while addressing the officers in the crime meeting of Gujranwala and Rawalpindi regions at the Central Police Office on Wednesday.

RPO Rawalpindi, RPO Gujranwala, concerned CPOs, DPOs participated in the meeting through video link. IG reviewed the overall performance of both regions in terms of law and order, crime control. He directed to make effective use of Investigation Support Unit to solve the cases of heinous crimes and further improve service delivery to citizens under 1787 Complaint Management System with effective follow-up.

Promoted cops honoured

IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar honoured the officers who were promoted to the rank of DSPs at a ceremony held at the Central Police Office on Wednesday. He personally pinned the ranks of DSPs on 26 police officers and congratulated them. The families, children, and relatives of the promoted officers participated in the ceremony.

Meanwhile, IG Punjab distributed certificates and cash rewards among officers for their excellent performance at a ceremony held at the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) on Wednesday. The recipients included officers from the Operation and Monitoring Centre, Electronic Data Analysts, representatives from the Emergency Call Centre and other departments.

ICC security team calls on IG Punjab

A high-level security delegation of the International Cricket Council (ICC) met IG Punjab at Central Police Office on Wednesday. The delegation led by Safety and Security Manager ICC David Muskar included Col Azam Khan from ICC, Col Khalid Mehmood and Usman Wahla from PCB. ICC delegation was briefed about the security arrangements for the upcoming international cricket matches in Punjab.

Safety and Security Officer ICC David Muskar appreciated the foolproof security measures taken by the Punjab Police for international cricket events across the province including Lahore.
