Prayer in the park gathering to take place at Clarence Park

A prayer in the park gathering is set to take place this weekend at a park in 

The prayer in the park gathering will be take place at Clarence Park on Saturday, May 18, between 1pm and 4pm, hosted by Churches Together.

The afternoon of praying Bury will have the theme “Love Bury, Pray for Bury”.

Bury mayor Sandra Walmsley, will be in attendance to speak about the joys and challenges of being in local government in the town.

They will be praying for the council, the voluntary sector, local businesses, young people in education as well as for the churches and the communities that they serve.

There will be an interactive prayer trail throughout the park, with links to videos from different sectors of our community, and activities for children.

The worship will be led by local musicians who will be playing throughout the afternoon.

Churches Together represent a wide range of churches across Bury and are delighted that so many churches are getting on board.

Rev David Somerville, co-chair of Churches Together in Bury, said: “This is a great opportunity for Christians across Bury to come together to pray for our town.

“We invite people of all faiths and none to join with us as we seek to bless Bury.

“Our thoughts and prayers will be guided by people directly involved in the sectors for which we will be praying as we gather around the Band Stand in Clarence Park.”
