Music is the one medium that transcends all ethnic, racial and cultural boundaries and has brought people from all walks of life together for decades now.

Angelo Mockie, founder of Angelo Mockie Productions, will be hosting a tribute to South African legends in Bloemfontein, Heidedal, on 31 May 2024.

“A Tribute 2 South African Music Legends will celebrate some of our local artists that helped change the South African musical landscape,” said Mockie.

Local Bloemfontein artists will be paying tribute to the likes of Johnny Clegg, Lucky Dube, Bless Bridges, Brenda Fassie, Ray Phiri, Sonja Herholdt and so much more.

“Bloemfontein is rich in talent and we make it our mission to create platforms for local audiences to experience these gifted individuals,” mentioned Mockie.

Mockie further said that the concert will not only celebrate our national musical giants but also create an opportunity for local artists to walk in their footsteps and live through these legends’ music. Mockie focused more on lyrical content for this event.

“We chose songs of which the lyrics stood the test of time, songs that have been covered by many different artists because of their impact over generations. It is important for us to expose local artists to this music and hear their interpretation,” said Mockie.

A Tribute 2 South African Music Legends will take place later during the month of May and 1 June 2024 from 7pm at E’kay’s Place – 100 Poinsettia Str, Heidedal.

Guests are expected to dress smart casual. Tickets are R120 and can be purchased on webtickets.
