Shirley Bajan Obituary –

Shirley J. Bajan, 93, of Nazareth, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2024, in Moravian Hall Square, in Nazareth. Shirley was born on March 14, 1931, daughter to the late William and Daisy (Kiefer) Benn. Shirley was a 1948 graduate of Bangor High School. She was the loving wife of 67 years to the late Edward S. “Eddie” Bajan prior to his passing on October 25, 2019. Shirley and Eddie were truly partners both in life and as owners and operators of the former Bajan’s Market in Nazareth, until retirement in 2002. Shirley was a very devout and active member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, of Nazareth, where she dedicated many years as a Sunday School teacher, a member of the von Bora Society, the Prayer Chain and as a greeter.

Shirley will be deeply missed by her children, Stephen Bajan and wife Janis, of Nazareth, Randy Bajan and wife Susan, of Bushkill Township., Tamara Pilgermayer and husband William, of Palm, PA; 7 grandchildren, Stephen Bajan II, Amanda Leech and husband Timothy, Rachel Graham and husband Ryan, Zachary Bajan, twins, Jessica Pilgermayer and Abigail Bliller and husband Douglas, Ryan Pilgermayer and wife Caren, and 2 great-grandsons, Gavin Graham and Liam Leech, sisters, Edith Clause and Ruth Kneebone. Shirley was pre-deceased by sisters, Margaret Koch, Carol Bronisoski, Dorothy Werkheiser, Betty Beers, Virginia Perine, and brothers, Louis, Donald,William, and John Benn.

Services for Shirley will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 11 :00 A.M. in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 S. Broad St. Nazareth, PA 18064. A visitation for the family and friends of Shirley will be held in the Shepherd’s Room of the church from 9:00-11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Nazareth following the service. Donations may be offered and mailed to the Building Trust Fund of St. John’s Lutheran Church, or to a Charity of One’s Choice in loving memory of Shirley.
