Suspect killed, two officers injured during incident involving Logan police

A male suspect was killed and two police officers injured after a shooting incident in Cache County.

The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Logan.

According to a press release from the Logan City Police Department, detectives were trying to arrest a man during an investigation when he began resisting.

They said the man pulled out a gun and shot at officers at what officials called “close range.”

One officer returned fire and struck the suspect, who died at the scene. His identity was not released.

Officials said two officers were hurt in the incident and sustained non-life threatening injuries. The nature and cause of their injuries were not available.

Both were treated at the hospital and released.

The officer has been placed on standard administrative leave, pending a review of what happened.
